Sperm are incredible. These amazing cells are super-powered swimming machines that travel incredible distances, navigate the female reproductive tract, survive for days, and ultimately fertilize a far away egg. As if that weren’t difficult enough, sperm must accomplish all of this while protecting and preserving the most precious cargo imaginable. Each sperm carries half of a man’s chromosomes, which contain the DNA that will combine with DNA from his partner’s egg to program every single facet of health and life for their potential future child.

Sperm are sensitive during the three months that it takes them to develop and mature.  Access to the right nutrients at the right time is critical for building and protecting their DNA and proteins. They are also vulnerable during development to damage from molecules called free radicals that are found throughout the male reproductive tract.  Free radicals can disrupt cellular processes and cause breaks in sperm DNA. Damage caused by free radicals is called oxidative stress and is a common cause of male infertility that impacts millions of couples.

Your sperm are half of the fertility equation. They deserve some evidence-based TLC

It turns out that a large body of scientific evidence has proven that modifiable lifestyle, behavioral, and physical factors are linked with high levels of free radicals, oxidative stress, poor sperm quality, and male infertility. Simple interventions like smoking cessation, dietary changes, and wearing a different type of underwear can make big differences for a couple that is trying to conceive. It is also clear from the medical literature that nutritional supplementation with the right doses of the right antioxidant nutrients can reduce free radical activity and meaningfully improve sperm quality and reproductive outcomes.

Swimmers was founded to empower men to improve their fertility by making simple, evidence-based choices about their behaviors, lifestyle and nutrition. We worked with leading male fertility experts to develop an evidence-based artificial intelligence platform (Swimmers Assessment) that helps men to identify opportunities to improve their reproductive health. We worked with those same experts to synthesize the latest and best scientific evidence to develop a nutritional supplement that promotes all aspects of sperm health and function (Swimmers Antioxidant Formula).  When used together, the Swimmers Assessment and Antioxidant Formula are simple and powerful mechanisms to optimize sperm health and male fertility.
